Combe Martin is only a short drive from Smythen Farm’s Combe Martin cottages. The village, which has the longest High Street of any town or village in Britain, is home to a beach made up of sand, pebbles and rock pools.
At low tide the pebbles give way to large areas of quality sand, which guests at our farm holiday cottages can enjoy for hours on end in summer. A few more secluded bays are within a short walk from Combe Martin such as Sandy Cove and Newbury Beach, both of which are ideal for rock pooling.
Based just a couple of miles drive from Combe Martin, Smythen Farm is the ideal place to be based for a holiday in Combe Martin, North Devon. As well as being ideally situated for Combe Martin, it’s also a great place to set out from to visit many of North Devon’s other attractions and naturally, it’s ideally located if you’re looking to take a beach holiday.
Combe Martin’s beach front is one of the nearest beaches to Smythen Farm and there are an awful lot more just a little further afield, including Croyde, Saunton and Putsborough. There are also a number of family attractions close to Smythen Farm’s self-catering holiday cottages, including the famous Watermouth Castle. In Combe Martin itself there are a restaurants and cafes dotted along the High Street, which is famous for being the longest in the UK.
Our family-friendly holiday cottages come complete with a big children’s play area which has a large tree house, swings and a trampoline to make your children’s stay with us as enjoyable as possible. Every yard of our 18 acres of land is available for you to use – although some of it is shared by our animals!
For 14 years, Smythen Farm has been the venue for thousands of memorable family holidays, and a number of our guests come back year after year.

Dogs over 2 years old are more than welcome in all of our cottages, with ample room for exercising across our 18 acres of land.
