Take a moment to enjoy the culinary delights that await a short trip away from your Devon holiday cottages with a pool on August bank holiday weekend. Barnstaple is set to have the sound and smells of the superb street food back again this month as it hosts the second ever strEAT Food Festival following its huge success last time. Owner of the ever-popular Custom House restaurant in Barnstaple, Matt Spencer, has worked hard to pull together a fine host of some of the area’s best local mobile food vendors. The appetites be taken care of by the delicious food and the sounds of a selection of great musical performances will accompany this food haven. The event will be raising money for the North Devon Hospice and there will be fish dishes, barbecue food, Caribbean, Indian, French classics, ice cream and milkshakes for lucky attendees to sample and indulge in. Looking to quench your thirst will be offerings from bars such Lilico’s, Barum Brewery, and Venton Cyder. Look out for the musical talents of Scott Xander Linn and the Broken Bottles, Small Town Jones to name a few of the billed performers. The event will be taking place on Sunday 24th August from midday until 7pm in Barnstaple Pannier Market.
