It has been announced this week that the village of Braunton will soon be opening the doors to a brand new cinema facility! The Friends of Braunton Library have recently managed to secure the launch of the Braunton Film Club by making use of the library in the village. This means that if you are staying in the surrounding areas, in cottages in Woolacombe, for example, then you can take the family along to a screening and enjoy the facility with the local residents. The cinema will have a monthly film screening, with everyone welcome to view films from the latest blockbuster to classic family favorite’s that the staff have available in the catalogue of thousands of movies held by the County Library Service. The venue is Braunton Library, and with ample parking and lots of great places to eat out you can a lovely evening out with all the family at the new cinema in the village. Friends Chairperson, Paula Ferris, says, “The library is the perfect location with a huge selection of films to choose from at a reasonable cost. We can bring cinema to Braunton and by inviting donations make some money to help the library. The space is small, but that makes it cosy, friendly and informal. You can even bring your own drinks.” You can get yourself some popcorn while you’re there, just like the ‘big’ cinemas, and with tickets available from the Braunton Library itself you can look forward to a more intimate cinema experience.
