It must have been the recent spate of sunny weather that has coaxed these adorable baby pumas at Exmoor Zoo to wander out into the sunshine for the very first time. The three pumas, who were all born at the same time, have recently left the safety and comfort of their den so that they can explore what’s outside. Amazingly this was a fortnight ahead of when they would have done if they had been raised out in the wild. Danny Reynolds, who is a curator at Exmoor Zoo, explained: "This has been a lovely surprise as the cubs are venturing out into their enclosure and playing in full view of the visiting public much sooner than we anticipated". The cubs will spend the summer enjoying carefree play time at the zoo before being rehomed at other zoos across Europe come the end of winter. Only mother, "Phu" is looking after the cubs because dad "Niko" has had to be separated as a precautionary measure against him hurting them. This is due to the fact that it’s not clear for sure how adult male pumas interact with their cubs. The zoo believes that if the weather gets any warmer then the triplets will be out and playing so why not pay a visit while on our farm holidays in Devon for children?
