First ever Exmoor Food Fest a huge success

The first ever Exmoor Food Fest is coming to an end this week, after having taken place all month, offering locals and visitors alike the chance to experience the best food and drink that Exmoor has to offer for a special low price.

Devised by chef and owner of The Café at Porlock Weir, Andrew Dixon, the Festival set out to promote the excellent food offered by the region as well as its stunning surrounding settings. Diners were able to try top food in 13 restaurants in Exmoor and the surrounding area, with two courses available for just £10 and three for £15, and also had the opportunity to win a top prize of a Taste of Exmoor hamper.

Several top restaurants in North Devon, near our Combe Martin cottages, have taken part, including Thomas Carr @ The Olive Room in Ilfracombe, the Tarr Farm Inn at Tarr Steps, The Coachhouse by Michael Caines at Kentisbury Grange, and the Michelin-starred Masons Arms at Knowstone.

The opportunity to try the best of North Devon’s food and drink for a low price has proven to be a success with both locals and visitors to the area, with hopes that more people will visit this untouched area of the county, not only for an excellent dining experience, but also to take in the stunning views offered up by the National Park.
