2015 North Devon Show set to be biggest and best to date!

The organisers behind the highly-anticipated and much-loved North Devon Show are gearing up for the annual event which promises to be the biggest and best one to date. The one day event will be held in Umberleigh once again, on Wednesday, 5th August. If you haven’t visited the show before the highlight of the event is undoubtedly, as it always is, the main display, which, for this year will come thanks to The Rockwood Dog Display Team. So for dog lovers, and we have plenty of them who stay in our dog friendly cottages, North Devon? Their amazing and mesmerising show takes the audience through each and every aspect of dog training ranging from agility, dogs jumping through 10 inch hoops, fly ball, obedience performed to music, as well as active man work where a dog will carry out role play of an apprehension of an armed criminal. You can also catch performances from Bideford Pipes and Drums and North Devon Pipes and Drums, as well as a parade of hounds, pony club games, the grand parade of prize winners, not to mention a parade of vintage vehicles for the car enthusiasts. If you were wondering what else will be happening on the day, you’re in for a treat as the packed event is set to host country pursuits, horse rings, a sheep marquee, livestock, a dog show, and a horticultural marquee. We couldn’t forget to mention the food hall either, which will be hosting a new event for 2015 in the form of a cookery demonstration from four top North Devon chefs. The culinary experts on showcasing their talents will include Paul Berry of The Swan in Bampton, Mark Dodson of The Masons Arms in Knowstone, Dan Tugwell of The Rams Head Inn in Dolton, and Dez Turland, group development chef with Brend Hotels. There’s also going to be around 20 fast food stalls dotted about the show ground along with picnic areas for anyone who brings their own food with them. Why not take advantage of this wonderful event while you’re on your North Devon family holidays with us?
