Keen photographers visiting our North Devon holiday cottages, as well as local snappers, are being called on to send in their best photos for a new competition. Adults and youngsters can, as of now, send in their entries, with successful admissions set to be displayed in the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon’s “North Devon in Photographs” exhibition from November this year until January 2016. For this year entrants are being asked to come up with something to fit into categories including wildlife, landscapes, the coast and sea, towns and villages, characters, and “anything goes”. Specific categories will be reserved for Areas of Outstanding National Beauty, Life on the Tarka Trail, and Heart of Exmoor. The local North Devon Journal photographer Mike Southon will be credited with picking out the winners in the Tarka Trail category with help from Carl Kinkenborg, co-author of the Tarka Trail Guide Book. So if you think you have what it takes to win, get your entry in before 28th September for your chance to win! For more information contact the museum on 01271 346747 or email museum@northdevon.gov.uk.
