3 simple reasons why swimming is super fun at Smythen Farm For many, swimming is already an incredibly enjoyable activity. Here’s a few reasons why we find swimming so great, and how using our pool while staying at one of our cottages can make swimming even better: It’s nice, easy, low impact exercise Although swimming works out several different muscles at once, it creates little stress for the joints, making it an exercise ideal for anyone despite their agility. Getting a workout on several different muscles means that you are guaranteed a thorough workout. Swimming is also a cardiovascular exercise, meaning that it also works out your lungs, and the most important muscle in your body, the heart, improving your overall fitness and helping to release those feel-good endorphins. It’s not only fun, but social too Not only is swimming great fun, but the pool provides a great place to meet new people, and for children (and maybe adults too!) to play some fun water games. With our pool at the heart of the holiday cottage complex, it is a great place for people to come together, meet fellow holidaymakers, and perhaps create some unforgettable memories and friendships. Even if you don’t always want to be splashing about in the pool, there’s plenty of space poolside to relax, socialise and keep an eye on the kids. It’s right on your doorstep One downside many find with going swimming is the hassle of travelling to and from the pool. While staying at one of our cottages, the pool is a stone’s throw away, and so our families can spend more time having fun both in and out of the pool. It’s handy as a place to keep the kids entertained when you don’t want to travel or leave Smythen Farm to have fun, and with it being heated and indoors, it means that fun can be had whatever the weather. You might find that there aren’t many Devon holiday cottages with a pool, but that ours are a step above the rest!
